Made 12 months ago from a very small lot of mostly sinking Jayapura pieces. The testing phase took some extra care. Because of the quality of the material I wanted to be certain that the final formula was the best presentation of the material I could manage. Often this means continuing to make test samples even after desirable results have been achieved and so allowing for a choice among several good options. But it’s always a balance as more sample testing means less precious material available for the final batch. 

The resulting formula is likely my favorite ever produced in this style of fragrance profile. An aggressive burn brings out deep resinous bursts set in between intense florals that surprise as the stick burns and oscillates between them. 

This resulting lot is rather small and especially high quality and unique on the market for Aloeswood stick incense so I’ve opted for an alternate packaging. Mimicking the packing style for some of my favorite commercial Kyara incense sticks I’ve created a small “gold pack” that holds 5 pieces (around a gram) rather than my typical 2 grams size, to make it extra special and to be able to share with a larger audience, and then wrap them up in an origami envelope just as the Japanese incense houses deliver their finest kyara.
